Marshfield swimmers have strong performance at Hatchet Relays

TOMAHAWK – The Marshfield girls swimming team had a strong performance Friday, finishing second at the Hatchet Relays at Tomahawk High School.

Ladysmith/Flambeau/Bruce won the meet with 344 points, just 24 more than Marshfield.

The Tigers won the 400-yard relay, with each team having to consist of a freshman, sophomore, junior and senior. Emma Holbrook, Walker Guzowski, Paige Hawley and Carly Barker won in a time of 4:29.0, a whopping 29 seconds better than second-place Tomahawk.

Barker, Holbrook, Laura Josephson and Lindsey DeVault took first in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:47.77.

The Tigers also won the 200 butterfly relay. Josephson, Barker, Holbrook and Hawley won in a time of 2:02.63.

Marshfield’s 200 backstroke relay team of Ana Stamas, Megan Marotz, Kelsey Kuehnhold and Holbrook finished second in a time of 2:13.91.

The Tigers host La Crosse Logan at Marshfield High School at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
