Marshfield boys basketball team beats Superior, improves to 8-0

WESTON – The Marshfield boys basketball team won its eighth-straight game to start the season, knocking off previously unbeaten Superior 49-42 on Thursday at the D.C. Everest High School.

The Tigers finish the Big Rivers/Wisconsin Valley Conference Challenge with a perfect 2-0 record.

Cale Zuiker, who scored 26 points in Wednesday’s win over Chippewa Falls, poured in 16 against Superior. Elliot Ashbeck added 14 points as the Tigers improve to 8-0. Superior falls to 6-1.

Marshfield led 20-11 at halftime and led the entire second half.

Jon Bauer added six points, 11 rebounds and four blocks for Marshfield.

Marshfield hosts Black River Falls in a nonconference game Tuesday before returning to Wisconsin Valley Conference action Jan. 7 at D.C. Everest.
