Spencer boys basketball team suffers Cloverbelt East loss to Gilman

SPENCER – The Spencer boys basketball team lost its second straight game Thursday, falling to Gilman 50-44 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game at Spencer High School.

The loss drops the Rockets’ record to 2-4 overall and in the Cloverbelt East. Gilman improves to 3-4, 3-2 in conference play.

Travis Gallick scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Gilman, which shot 46.5 percent from the field (20 of 43).

Spencer shot just 33.3 percent (17 of 51) and were outscored 36-27 in the second half after leading 17-14 at halftime.

Sam Cattanach led the Rockets with 13 points.

Spencer hosts Loyal on Tuesday.
