Marshfield grad Katie Wolff helps Winona State women’s basketball team reach NSIC tournament finals

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Winona State women’s basketball team took down NSIC regular season champion and the nation’s No. 7 team Wayne State on Saturday 73-65 to advance to the championship game of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference/Sanford Health Basketball Tournament.

Marshfield High School graduate Katie Wolff scored seven points and had four assists in the win for the Warriors, who improve to 20-8 and will play either Northern State or Concordia-St. Paul at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Gangelhoff Center in St. Paul for a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament.

Wolff, a sophomore guard, is third on the Warriors in scoring (12.8 points per game) and leads the team in assists (108), 3-pointers (63), 3-pointer percentage (45.6 percent) and free-throw percentage (93 percent, 53 of 57).
