CHICAGO – A pair of local youth wrestlers earned All-American honors after competing at the NUWAY National Wrestling Tournament in Chicago last weekend.
Mason Kauffman, a sixth-grader from Spencer, placed fourth, and Samuel Mitchell, a fourth-grader at Nasonville Elementary School in Marshfield, took seventh in their respective divisions.
Both earned All-American status by virtue of their top-eight finishes in the tournament. It is Mitchell’s second All-American finish, and Kauffman’s first.
