SPENCER – Nicole Bruss, Jenna Hagen and Tynae Phillips combined on a five-inning no-hitter for Spencer, which whipped Augusta 22-0 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division softball game Monday night.

Bruss struck out six and walked two in three innings to earn the win, and Hagen and Phillips each followed up with a scoreless, hitless inning to preserve the no-hitter for the Rockets.

Spencer remains in a tie for second place with Loyal in the Cloverbelt East with the victory at 4-1. Greenwood tops the standings with a 3-0 record after a win over Neillsville on Monday.

Krystal Weier led the Rockets’ offensive attack by going 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, four runs scored and six RBIs. Erika Taylor, Amanda Skrzecskoski, Faythe Bauer and Kailyn Anderson each had two RBIs for Spencer. The Rockets also took advantage of 15 walks and six Augusta errors.

Spencer hosts a doubleheader against Owen-Withee on Tuesday and continues its busy week with a game at Augusta on Thursday and at home against Colby on Friday.
