Marshfield boys third, girls fourth at Wisconsin Valley Conference track relays

WAUSAU – The Marshfield boys finished third and the girls took fourth Tuesday at the Wisconsin Valley Conference Track and Field Relays at Wausau West High School.

Jeremy Robinson had a conference-best triple jump of 44 feet, 1 inch to lead the Marshfield triple jump relay to a first-place finish. Brad Krueger (39-8.75) and Dan Kniech (38-6.75) rounded out the team.

The Tigers boys also won the 400-meter relay in 43.92 seconds and the 900 hurdles relay. Team members of the 400 were not provided. Kniech led the way in the hurdles shuttle with a time of 41.95. Dan Drach (43.68) and Keron Howlet (44.30) were also on the team.

The girls 800-meter relay team of Alexa Fritsch, Gabriella Myrie, Nikki Youngblood, Bisola Omoba grabbed Marshfield’s only even victory, finishing in 1:49.70.

The Marshfield girls 400 relay team of Miranda Snortheim, Myrie, Youngblood and Fritsch finished second in 52.41.

The Marshfield track teams are off until May 12 when they travel to the Tomah Invitational.
