Marshfield Chaparrals push past Everest in season finale

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Chaparrals wrapped up its season with a 7-3 win over the Everest Merchants on Tuesday.

The game was a make-up from a game rained out earlier in the season.

Cain Trunkel had two hits and Chuck Brehm had a triple and an RBI to lead the Marshfield offense.

Marshfield scored six runs in its final three at-bats to pull away.

Lucious Messerschmidt picked up the win for the Chaps, allowing one run in six innings. Ryan Metz earned the save, striking out three in 1 2/3 innings.

Marshfield finishes its season with a 17-10 record.
