WAUKESHA – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County women’s basketball team improved to 8-0 with another dominating victory as it downed UW-Waukesha 82-68 on the road Saturday afternoon.

Paige Albrecht scored 25 points and Ashley Pongratz and Bailey Klieforth each had double-doubles to lead the Marauders.

Pongratz had 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Klieforth added 14 points and 12 rebounds for Marshfield.

“The score doesn’t say how this game was played,” UW-Marshfield/Wood County coach Rhonda Keding said. “The ladies stayed in there tough. One of our top players went out with a knee injury half way through the first half and so many girls stepped up like she wasn’t even out of the game. The ladies fought for the win and they deserve it.”

The Marauders are off for a week before playing at UW-Fox Valley in Menasha next Saturday.
