Columbus Catholic sweeps doubles, wins girls tennis match over Lakeland

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls tennis team pulled out another close win, defeating Lakeland 4-3 on Thursday in a Great Northern Conference match at Boson Courts.

The win is the Dons’ second straight 4-3 win and improves their conference record to 2-1.

Elizabeth Manlick earned a win at No. 1 singles, and Columbus’ three doubles teams swept the Thunderbirds. Winning for the Dons were Rebecca Lamermayer and Maria Garcia at No. 1, Nettie Kaiser and Katelyn Welsh at No. 2, and Lauren Derfus and Lindsey Schultz at No. 3.

Columbus hosts Medford on Tuesday and plays at Rhinelander next Thursday.
