Marshfield’s Nadeen Lieberman falls in third round at WIAA State Individual Girls Tennis Tournament

MADISON – Marshfield freshman Nadeen Lieberman showed that she should have a great career ahead of her during the last two days at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

Lieberman won her Division 1 No. 1 singles second-round match Friday morning at the WIAA State Individual Girls Tennis Championships with a tight 7-6, 6-4, win over Emily Mone of Glendale Nicolet before losing her third-round match Friday afternoon on the University of Wisconsin campus.

Lieberman wraps up her first varsity season for the Tigers with a 22-11 record after a 6-1, 6-1, loss to Emily Kolbow (28-4) of Hartland Arrowhead in their third-round match.

Lieberman reached the second day of the tournament after winning her first-round match 6-3, 6-1, over Asia Butler of Whitefish Bay on Thursday.

The tournament continues with quarterfinals tonight and semifinals and championship matches on Saturday.
