EAU CLAIRE – The Spencer wrestling team, despite wrestling with only nine athletes in 14 weight classes, went 4-1 at the Eau Claire Holiday Invitational on Dec. 27.
The Rockets defeated Whitehall 48-34, lost to Maple Grove, Minn., 40-32, and defeated Eau Claire Memorial 45-30, Minnetonka, Minn., 36-35, and Black River Falls 44-24.
Kyle Andreae (285 pounds), Lance Neumann (182), Zach Schneider (170), Rudy Nieman (138) and Nate Neumann (132) each went 5-0 for Spencer. Andreae and Lance Neumann each improve to 18-0 this season. Schneider is now 15-3 and Nieman is 16-2.
Brady Zais (145), Dylan Schubert (126) and Austin Post (106) each finished 4-1 for the Rockets.
Spencer will compete at the Westfield Tournament on Saturday.
