Marshfield graduate Taylor Varsho continues freshman season at Colorado State

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Marshfield High School graduate Taylor Varsho will compete with the Colorado State University women’s basketball team at the Mountain West Conference Tournament this week in Las Vegas.

Varsho, a freshman guard, did not score and had three rebounds in the Rams’ 53-51 win over Nevada on March 9. Colorado State closes out the regular season with an 11-18 record and a 7-9 mark in the Mountain West, good enough for sixth place.

Varsho scored six points and had four rebounds in 23 minutes in CSU’s 65-51 loss to Wyoming on March 6, the final home game of the season for the Rams.

Overall this season, Varsho has played in 22 of the Rams’ 29 games, starting five. She averages 1.41 minutes, 3.6 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.

Colorado State has a rematch with third-seed Wyoming (23-6, 12-4 MWC) in the conference tournament quarterfinals at 7:35 p.m. Central Time on Thursday at the Thomas & Mack Center. The winner plays in the tournament semifinals on Friday.
