FREEDOM – Mitch Hertel won the 152-pound title for Marshfield and the Tigers finished seventh at the 14-team Freedom Irish Wrestling Invitational on Saturday at Freedom High School.
Hertel defeated Chandler Donati of Two Rivers 5-2 in the championship match and improves to 28-2 this season.
Marshfield had a third-place, fourth-place and a fifth-place finish as well.
Nick Humphrey defeated Hunter Lee of Appleton North 1-0 to take third at 220 pounds, Anthony Christmas lost the 113-pound third-place match to finish fourth and Anthony Kanable won the 120-pound fifth-place match with a pin. Kanable, a freshman, is now 25-6 this season.
Bay Port won four individual titles and won the team championship with 234 points. Two Rivers was second with 193.5 points. Marshfield was seventh with 93 points.
Marshfield wraps up its Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet season Thursday at Wausau East.
