Wisconsin Rapids Assumption overwhelms Stratford girls basketball

STRATFORD – Wisconsin Rapids Assumption erupted with a 21-5 third quarter to ease past Stratford 53-19 in a Marawood Conference South Division girls basketball game Tuesday night at Stratford High School.

Gena Grundhoffer was 10 of 14 from the field and scored a game-high 24 points, outscoring the Tigers by herself.

Assumption improves to 14-1 and remains unbeaten at 8-0 in the Marawood South.

Macie Frueh had seven points to lead the Tigers (6-8, 2-5 Marawood South).

Stratford made just 6 of 39 shots from the field and 6 of 15 on free throws.

Stratford’s next game is Friday at Auburndale.
