Auburndale boys basketball team edges Stevens Point Pacelli in WIAA Division 4 sectional semifinal

WESTON – The Auburndale boys basketball team is one win away from a return trip to the state tournament.

The Apaches won their 17th game in a row with a 43-38 victory over Stevens Point Pacelli in a WIAA Division 4 sectional semifinal Thursday night at D.C. Everest High School.

Auburndale (24-1) plays Brillion (17-8) in a D-4 sectional final at 2 p.m. Saturday at Appleton East High School. The game will be broadcast on WOSQ-FM 92.3 and wdlbwosq.com.

Auburndale broke open a tie game with 7 of 8 free-throw shooting in the final minute and outscored Pacelli 11-4 overall int eh final period.

Zach Staats and Blake Anderson each had 13 points to lead Auburndale.

Pacelli ends its season with a 23-2 record.
