MADISON – The 2014 WIAA State Softball Tournament wound down Saturday with four championship games at Goodman Diamond on the University of Wisconsin campus.

Kimberly won its seventh state title, edging Westosha Central 6-5 in 15 innings, a state tournament record for innings played. Kimberly (27-3) also won championships in 1980, 1981, 1988, 1989, 1993 and 2007.

Both teams scored a run in the ninth inning after rallying with two outs, before Kimberly finally winning it in the 15th.

Mosinee won the Division 2 championship with a 2-0 shutout of New London. Mosinee (28-2) was making its first state tournament appearance.

Arcadia finished a perfect season (30-0) with a 1-0 win over Laconia to take the Division 3 title. It is Arcadia’s first state title.

Oakfield won its fifth state championship, whipping Cochrane-Fountain City 7-3 in the Division 4 title game. Oakfield (21-2) won its fourth title since 2009 (2009, 2011, 2012).
