UW-Marshfield/Wood County women’s basketball loses at UW-Marinette

MARINETTE – The University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County women’s basketball team traveled across the state and lost a tight one to UW-Marinette 60-55 on Wednesday night.

The Marauders are now 6-4 overall and 5-2 in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference.

UW-Marshfield led 27-22 at halftime, but fell behind early in the second half and never recovered.

Marinette had 24 offensive rebounds, and held a 51-37 advantage in total rebounds, which proved the difference. The Buccaneers had 16 second-chance points.

Taylor Lynn and Brooke Schultze each had 12 points to top the Marauders.

UW-Marshfield plays at UW-Fond du Lac on Friday.
