Stratford girls basketball loses at Marathon

MARATHON – Stratford fell behind by double-digits before halftime and couldn’t recover, dropping a Marawood Conference South Division to Marathon 57-38 on Friday night at Marathon High School.

Marathon improves to 10-1 overall and 5-1 in the Marawood South, while Stratford falls to 9-4 and 3-3 in the conference.

Emily Kind had 14 points and seven rebounds to top Marathon, which had eight different players score.

Tianna Hughes led Stratford with 14 points and five rebounds.

Marathon led 16-8 after one quarter and 33-14 by halftime to take control.

The Tigers host Tomah in a nonconference game Tuesday.
