Stevens Point shuts out Marshfield boys hockey

MARSHFIELD – Stevens Point scored three goals in the first period and cruised to a 8-0 victory over Marshfield in a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys hockey game Tuesday night at the Marshfield Youth Ice Arena.

The Panthers (14-4, 7-2 Wisconsin Valley Conference) added four more goals in the second period and another in the third to finish off the victory.

Stevens Point held a 43-14 advantage in shots and goalkeepers Collin Schuh (9) and Nathan Siclovan (5) saved all 14 shots for the Panthers.

Brock Caufield netted a hat trick and Grant Czailkowski had a goal and three assists for Stevens Point.

Haydon Roy-Peterson had 35 saves for the Tigers (7-12, 1-7 WVC).

Marshfield plays at Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday. The game will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com at 7 p.m.
