UW-Marshfield/Wood County women’s basketball holds off UW-Marathon County

WAUSAU – Katie Meacham hit five 3-pointers and scored a team-high 15 points, lifting the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County women’s basketball team to a 58-50 victory over UW-Marathon County on Wednesday night at the UW-Marathon County gym.

The Marauders led 31-18 at halftime and held on in the second half to grab the road victory. Marshfield is now 10-7 overall and 9-4 in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference.

Taylor Lynn added 14 points and seven rebounds, and Paige Newman chipped in 12 for the Marauders.

UW-Marshfield/Wood County wraps up its regular-season schedule with a pair of home games. The Marauders play UW-Rock County at noon on Saturday and will host UW-Fond du Lac at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
