MARSHFIELD – Four players scored in double figures to lift the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County women’s basketball team to a 63-39 rout of UW-Rock County on Saturday afternoon at the Marauder Gym.
Katie Meacham, Taylor Lynn and Allie Paitel each scored 11 points, and Paige Newman added 10 for the Marauders. Paitel and Mikayla Jankowski each had 12 rebounds in the win.
The Marauders (11-7, 10-4 Wisconsin Collegiate Conference) led 27-21 at halftime before opening up their lead in the second half with the help of a 23-1 run.
UW-Marshfield also held Rock to 23 percent shooting and held a massive 68-31 rebounding advantage.
The Marauders wrap up their regular-season schedule Monday at home against UW-Fond du Lac. The game begins at 5:30 p.m. The Wisconsin Collegiate Conference playoffs begin Feb. 14.
