Marshfield girls hockey finishes GNC season with shutout of Lakeland

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls hockey team blanked Lakeland 5-0 in its regular-season finale on Friday night at the Marshfield Youth Ice Arena.

Morgan Larson had her third hat trick in the last four games for Marshfield. She also assisted on a goal by Kessa Schreiner, and Kaylee Geiger added the Tigers’ other goal midway through the third quarter.

Madi Hall only had to make six saves in goal for the Tigers as they outshot Lakeland 40-6.

With the victory, the Tigers finish the Great Northern Conference season at .500 with a 6-6 record and are 7-13 overall. Marshfield plays at Northand Pines in Minocqua on Feb. 20 in a WIAA regional final at 6 p.m.

Lakeland finishes the regular season 3-15 and 2-10 in the conference.
