Marshfield girls basketball wins at SPASH, remains unbeaten

STEVENS POINT – Ema Fehrenbach made 12 of 15 free throws and scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Marshfield girls basketball team to a 67-58 victory over Stevens Point in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Friday night at Stevens Point Area Senior High.

Marshfield made 21 of 26 free throws overall on its way to its sixth-straight win to start the season.

McKayla Scheuer added 16 points and seven rebounds, Maddie Nikolai scored 12 and Meg Bryan had 11 for the Tigers, who are now 2-0 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.

Maggie Negaard had 20 points for the Panthers (2-6, 1-1 WVC).

Marshfield is off until next Friday when it hosts Wisconsin Rapids as part of a girls-boys doubleheader. The girls game starts at 6 p.m. with the boys game to follow at approximately 7:45 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com.
