Spencer boys basketball pummels Colby

COLBY – The Spencer boys basketball team shot 52 percent and held Colby to 31 percent on its way to an 87-44 victory in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Friday night at Colby High School.

The Rockets charged out to a 43-24 halftime lead and put 44 more on Colby in the second half.

Calvin Lenz had 22 points, seven rebounds and four assists, Noah Zastrow added 17 points, and Jack Bezlyk had 13 points and nine rebounds for the Rockets (14-6, 10-5 Cloverbelt East).

Bobby Pilz had 12 points and three assists, and Ryan Busse added 12 points and a team-high 11 rebounds for Spencer.

The Rockets finish their Cloverbelt East schedule Monday at conference champion Columbus Catholic. The game will be broadcast on WOSQ-FM 92.3 and wdlbwosq.com.
