Stratford softball wins conference finale at Assumption

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Stratford softball team busted open a tight game with an eight-run top of the seventh and whipped Wisconsin Rapids Assumption 13-6 in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday.

Stratford led 5-4 after six innings before the erupting with the eight-run frame that put the game away.

The Tigers are now 14-6 and finish the Marawood South season with a 10-2 record. Stratford finishes its regular-season schedule Friday with a nonconference game at Edgar.

Kaylee Geiger went 4-for-5 and Brittany Bredemann drove in three runs for Stratford.

Lorrie Luepke earned the win on the mound.
