Owen-Withee sends Spencer boys basketball to third loss in a row

OWEN – Kole Karaba scored 17 points to help Owen-Withee come back to top Spencer 63-55 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Thursday at Owen-Withee High School.

The win pushes Owen-Withee to 2-2 overall and 2-1 in the Cloverbelt East, while Spencer falls to 1-3 overall and 1-2 in the conference after dropping its third-straight game.

Spencer led 31-29 at halftime but couldn’t hold on in the second half as the Blackhawks outscored the Rockets by 10.

Jack Bezlyk had 21 points and 11 rebounds before fouling out for Spencer.

The Rockets will host Marathon in a nonconference game Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
