Columbus Catholic soccer drops two at CWC Invite

WAUPUN – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic soccer team lost both of its games at the Central Wisconsin Christian Invitational on Saturday to fall to 1-2 this season.

Waupun beat the Dons in the semifinal 2-1, and Columbus fell to host Central Wisconsin Christian 6-3 in the third-place game.

Nadim Torbey had a goal in each game, and Zoe Stratman added another in the loss to CWC for the Dons. Columbus’ third goal in the loss to CWC was an own goal by the Crusaders.

Nick Malovrh, Zach Olson and Evan Dieringer had assists for the Dons (1-2).

The Dons open their Central Wisconsin Conference season on Monday at Northland Lutheran.
