Auburndale wrestlers 7th at Nekoosa

NEKOOSA – Cody Kundinger took second place at 125 pounds for Auburndale’s top individual finish as the Apaches wrestling team placed seventh out of 10 teams at the Nekoosa Invitational on Saturday.

Kundinger lost the 125-pound championship match to Lucas Johnson of Royall 7-4. Kundinger was the only Auburndale wrestler to reach the finals.

Reedsburg won the team title with 189 points, besting Mosinee (171.5) and Tomah (167).

Auburndale had a pair of third-place finishers, w ith Andrew Ringquist winning the third-place match at 130, beating Bryan Fogarty of Mosinee by pin in 2:37, and Dave Altmann pinning Alex Senski of Mosinee in 1:19 of the 285-pound third-place match.

Clint Moschinski was fourth at 152 pounds, losing to Mosinee’s Patrick Baur 6-5.

Aaron Swenson took fifth for Auburndale, beating Connor Genrich of Tomah 6-4 at 160 pounds. Tim Schroeder lost his fifth-place match at 189 pounds to Gair Walta of Nekoosa/Port Edwards in a 14-2 major decision to take sixth.
