Columbus Catholic boys basketball wins at Owen-Withee

OWEN – Marshfield Columbus Catholic pulled away in the second half to beat Owen-Withee 64-45 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Tuesday night at Owen-Withee High School.

With the victory, the Dons improve to 14-2 overall and remain unbeaten at 11-0 in the Cloverbelt East. Owen-Withee drops to 10-6 and 8-4 in conference action.

Columbus Catholic led 29-22 at halftime before outscoring the Blackhawks by 13 points in the second half to secure the win.

Nick Malovrh scored 18 points to lead four Dons in double figures. Jarred Mandel added 15 points, Noah Taylor had 12, and Bryce Fuerlinger scored 10 for Columbus.

Columbus hosts Gilman on Thursday.
