Marshfield Junior Legion walks off two wins against Antigo

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Junior American Legion baseball team wrapped up its regular-season schedule with a pair of walk-off wins against Antigo on Tuesday night at Jack Hackman Field.

The Blue Devils (17-13) won 8-7 in eight innings and 5-4 in the doubleheader sweep.

Marshfield trailed 6-1 after 1½ innings in Game 1 before rallying to tie the game at 7-7 with two runs in the bottom of the sixth.

In the eighth, Kyler Bainer led off with a triple and scored on sac fly by Riley Bauman to give the Blue Devils the victory.

Alejandro Anaya earned the win for Marshfield with five innings of relief, allowing just one run and striking out four. Bainer, Bauman, Devyn Palmer and Adam Zee all had two hits.

In Game 2, Antigo rallied from a 4-0 deficit to tie the game before Marshfield scored in the bottom of the fifth to win it. Logan Schreiner was hit by pitch with one out and scored on triple by Nick Urban.

Logan Homolka struck out eight in the complete-game win, and Ty Pankratz had two RBIs for the Blue Devils.

Marshfield will compete in the Junior Legion regional at Wausau starting Friday.
