Marshfield boys tennis edges Holmen

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield boys tennis team swept the three doubles matches to slip past Holmen 4-3 in a nonconference meet Tuesday at Marshfield Middle School.

The Tigers’ No. 2 doubles team of Lucas Paulman and Sam Roherty won 6-0, 6-3, and the No. 3 team of Josh Grissman and Eli Swansen won 7-5, 6-4. Marshfield’s No. 1 doubles team of Jared Cordova and Will Fay needed three sets to win its match, beating Mav Klumaczewski and Vang Thao 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Marshfield’s lone singles win came from No. 2 Calvin Lawler, who beat Michael Hinman 6-3, 6-3.

Marshfield hosts Wausau East in a Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
