Marshfield boys tennis tops Menomonie in final home dual of season

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield boys tennis team closed out its home regular-season schedule with a 5-2 win over Menomonie in a nonconference match Monday at the Boson Tennis Complex.

Marshfield’s doubles teams continued its recent success, completing a sweep of the three matches.

Jared Cordova and Will Fay at No. 1, Lucas Paulman and Sam Roherty at No. 2, and Kennan Chojnacki and Justin Rachu at No. 3 all won in straight sets for the Tigers.

Calvin Lawler won at No. 2 singles in three sets, winning a tiebreaker in the third set 10-7, and Ryan Paulman won in straight sets at No. 3 singles for Marshfield.

Marshfield will play a nonconference dual at Eau Claire Memorial on Tuesday before competing at the WIAA Division 1 subsectional at Tomah next Monday, May 20.
