SPENCER – The Auburndale cross country teams can so close to winning a pair of team titles at its own meet on Tuesday, but the Apaches had to settle for runner-up finishes.

The Marathon boys and Amherst girls edged the Auburndale teams to win titles at the Auburndale Invitational, held at Frey Field outside of Spencer on a sun-splashed Tuesday afternoon.
