SPENCER – Auburndale’s Carl Lundgren won his third-straight event to lead the Eagles boys to the team title at its home Auburndale Quadrangular on Tuesday at Frey Field.
Lundgren won the boys race in 17:33, 47 seconds ahead of teammate Charles Jewell as Auburndale won the team title with 15 points. Stratford was second with 45, and Edgar and Wisconsin Rapids Assumption each had only two runners.
Gavin White Eagle finished third for the Eagles in 19:04, Assumption’s Blake Lobner was fourth in 19:15, and Stratford’s top runner was Cade Bruesewitz, who finished seventh in 20:01.
Assumption won the girls title with 28 points, led by winner Ainara Sainz De Ro (20:52), runner-up Grace Dolan (20:58), and third-place finisher Cristin Casey (21:07).
Auburndale was second with 45 points, Stratford third with 76 and Edgar fourth with 78.
Morgan Schnelle finished fourth for Edgar in 21:12, Jordyn Karl was fifth (21:44) and Mckenna Zieher took sixth (21:50) for Auburndale, and Kressa Wenzel finished seventh for Stratford in 22:13.
Auburndale will compete at Edgar on Sept. 29, while Stratford will be off until Oct. 1 when it travels to Athens.
