Marshfield, Auburndale, Spencer to host first-round WIAA volleyball matches

The Marshfield, Spencer and Auburndale volleyball teams will host first-round matchups as the WIAA girls volleyball playoffs kickoff next week.

Marshfield earned a No. 3 seed and will host No. 6 Antigo in a Division 1 regional semifinal on Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. The winner moves on to a regional final Oct. 23 against the winner of the No. 7 D.C. Everest vs. No. 2 Merrill match.

Auburndale, Spencer and Stratford are part of the same Division 3 sectional bracket and will play regional quarterfinal matches at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Spencer, which finished third in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division, is the No. 2 seed and will host No. 7 Cadott.

No. 3 Auburndale, winners of the Marawood Conference South Division, hosts No. 6 Stanley-Boyd.

The winners of those two matches will face each other, with the higher seed hosting, on Friday, Oct. 22.

On the lower half of the bracket, No. 7 Stratford will take on No. 2 Marathon at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

In Division 4, Marshfield Columbus Catholic earned a No. 6 seed and will play at No. 3 Neenah St. Mary Central at 7 p.m. Tuesday in a regional quarterfinal.

The WIAA State Girls Volleyball Tournament will be held at the Resch Center in Green Bay on Nov. 4-6.
