Marshfield boys tennis wins season opener over D.C. Everest

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield boys tennis team opened its season with a 5-2 win over D.C. Everest on Friday at the Boson Tennis Complex.

Marshfield swept the three doubles matches and split the four singles contests to earn the win in the Wisconsin Valley Confdownloaderence and season opener for both schools.

The Tigers’ three doubles teams lost just five games as they swept all three matchups.

Josh Grissman and Justin Rachu won at No. 1 doubles 6-1, 6-1; Payton Smith and Kennan Chojnacki won at No. 2 6-0, 6-2; and Ian Senholz and Corbin Krueger won at No. 3 6-0, 6-1, for the Tigers.

Sam Roherty earned a 6-4, 6-4, win at No. 2 singles and Brian Fay lost just one game at No. 4 singles, winning 6-1, 6-0, for Marshfield.

Marshfield returns to action May 13 at Stevens Point.
