Stratford girls basketball snags nonconference win at Spencer

SPENCER – Lauren Kraus had 18 points and 18 rebounds to help push the Stratford girls basketball team to a 47-33 win over Spencer in a nonconference battle at the Spencer High School Dome on Thursday night.

Stratford pulled out to a 25-18 lead at halftime and held the Rockets down in the second half to earn the 14-point win.

Stratford is now 2-4, while Spencer falls to 2-4 this season.

Lexie Christopherson hit a pair of 3-pointers and added 10 points for Stratford.

Heavyn Kind had 17 points and Amber Becker eight in the loss for the Rockets.

Stratford plays a Marawood Conference crossover game at Athens on Friday, while Spencer hosts Greenwood for a Cloverbelt Conference East Division matchup on Friday. Both games start at 7:15 p.m.
