Auburndale boys basketball outlasts Edgar for fifth-straight win

EDGAR – After a slow start to the season against a tough slate of opponents, the Auburndale boys basketball team is back to its winning ways.

Caden Weinfurter had 19 points and nine rebounds, and Terrance Cottrell-Roberson added 10 points to lead Auburndale to a 47-43 win over Edgar in a Marawood Conference South Division game Tuesday at Edgar High School.

The win is Auburndale’s fifth in a row and evens its record at 6-6 overall and 4-4 in the Marawood South.

Justin Davis had nine points for Edgar (6-5, 3-3 Marawood South), which made eight 3-pointers in the game.

Both teams return to Marawood South play on Friday. Auburndale will travel to Marathon and Edgar hosts Wausau Newman Catholic. The Edgar game will be live at zaleskisports.com at 7:15 p.m.
