Stratford baseball blanks Auburndale

AUBURNDALE – Brady Schmidt and Cam Daul combined on a four-hit shutout to lift the Stratford baseball team to its 10th-straight win, a 2-0 victory over Auburndale in Marawood Conference South Division action Tuesday at Auburndale High School.

Schmidt allowed all four hits in six innings, while striking out six without a walk. Daul finished up to earn the save, striking out two in the seventh for the Tigers (10-1, 6-0 Marawood South).

Jack Tubbs and Jackson Ormond had RBI singles in the fifth inning to account for the only two runs of the game.

Blake Raab suffered the loss, scattering seven hits and striking out three in a complete game for Auburndale (6-5, 4-3 Marawood South).

The two tames meet again Thursday at Stratford. The game will start at 4:45 p.m. and will be broadcast live at zaleskisports.com.
