Auburndale baseball powers past Prentice

AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale baseball team smashed eight extra-base hits, including two home runs from Alex Willfahrt, and pounded Prentice 16-2 in a nonconference game Friday at Auburndale High School.

The Eagles scored seven times in the first inning, added five more in the second and four in the third to win going away and improve to 7-6 this season.

In addition to Willfahrt’s two solo homers, Sloan Welch had a pair of doubles and two RBI, and Caden Weinfurter went 3-for-3 with a double and four RBI for Auburndale.

Welch earned the win, striking out seven in three innings.

Auburndale will compete at the Wittenberg-Birnamwood Triangular on Saturday, playing games against the host school and Peshtigo.
