Marshfield girls, boys track teams sweep titles at Wisconsin Rapids

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield boys and girls won team titles at the Gene Noonan Track & Field Invitational on Friday at Lincoln High School.

The Marshfield boys racked up 665 points in the meet that scored up to 16 finishers in each event. La Crosse Logan was a close second with 640 points and Wisconsin Rapids finished third with 623.5.

The Marshfield girls rolled to the title with 743.5 points, well ahead of second-place Sauk Prairie (611). Wisconsin Rapids was fifth with 363.

Earning titles for the Marshfield girls were: Sophie Nikolay in the pole vault (10 feet, 6 inches), Aubri Brown in the shot put (37-11.75), the 800 relay team of Olivia Page, Ryann Kilty, Ayana Bousum and Michaela Dick (1:49.84), Ashley Grancorvitz in the 300 hurdles (49.37), and Megan Jaeger in the 3,200 (12:44.67).

The Marshfield boys didn’t win any events, but used its depth to accumulate enough points to take the team championship.

James Ketterer was second in the triple jump (40-11.75), the 3,200 relay team of Michael Dick, Joey Cashmer, Mason Horn and Thomas Cashmer was second in 9:07.70, Trevor Foemmel was the runner-up in the 110 hurdles (16.36) and Carson Kvernen took second in the 300 hurdles (42.31) for Marshfield.
