Marshfield baseball shut out by Stevens Point

MARSHFIELD – Noah Marschke struck out 12 in a complete-game four-hit shutout as the Stevens Point baseball team shut out Marshfield 4-0 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Tuesday at Jack Hackman Field.

Marshfield pitcher Braxton Kurth matched Marschke through three innings before Stevens Point finally broke through in the fourth.

Thauer had a sacrifice fly to put the Panthers (10-3, 5-1 WVC) on the board, and they extended their lead to 3-0 when Tommy Drohner delivered a two-run single in the fourth.

Drohner had another sac fly in the seventh to finish the scoring.

Ryan Lindemann had two of Marshfield’s four hits as the Tigers remain winless, falling to 0-17 overall and 0-7 in the WVC.

The two teams will meet again Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Bukolt Park.
