ANTIGO – The Marshfield Senior Legion baseball team opened its 2022 summer season with a come-from-behind 8-5 win over Antigo on Friday night at Kretz Park.

Marshfield trailed 6-1 after four innings before edging closer with a three-run fifth and pulling ahead with four runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Jackson Ormond singled, Cody Donahue doubled, and Chase Robinson walked to load the bases with one out in the seventh for Marshfield.

A groundout by Nick Urban plated the tying run, and with two outs Logan Holmoka doubled in a pair and scored on a single by Riley Bauman to give the Blue Devils a three-run lead.

Antigo had two runners on in the bottom of the seventh before Urban was able to wiggle out of the jam to earn the save for starting pitcher Kale Weisenberger.

Bauman finished 4-for-5 and Ormond had two hits, both driving in a run, for Marshfield.

Marshfield’s scheduled doubleheader on Saturday at Viroqua was rained out. The Blue Devils will travel to Chippewa Falls for a doubleheader on Sunday starting at 2 p.m.
