SUAMICO – The Marshfield girls tennis team opened its 2022 season at the two-day Bay Port Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, finishing with a 1-5 record.
Marshfield’s lone victory came against Antigo with a 7-0 sweep. Six of the wins were in straight sets and the other by forfeit.
The No. 2 doubles team of Sophia Morrell and Ava Paape went 3-3, and Payton Koran at No. 3 singles, and the No. 1 doubles team Danielle Minsaas and Sam Ridgway each won two matches for Marshfield.
Marshfield will compete at the Eau Claire Memorial Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
