Marshfield volleyball dominates Merrill to improve to 2-0 in WVC

MERRILL – Abby Ongna had 13 kills and Reinya Balderson had 29 assists to lead the Marshfield volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of Merrill in a Wisconsin Valley Conference match Thursday at Merrill High School.

The Tigers won 25-11, 25-22, 25-18, to improve to 2-0 this season in the Wisconsin Valley Conference and 16-2 overall.

Elise Uphoff had a team-best 16 digs, Rylee Corteen had six block kills, Caitlyn Pernsteiner added eight kills and Lauren Homolka had six kills for Marshfield.

Marshfield returns to action next Thursday, Sept. 15, with a WVC match against D.C. Everest, which is also 2-0 in the conference this season.
