MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield volleyball team stands alone as the only undefeated team in the Wisconsin Valley Conference after a 3-0 sweep of D.C. Everest on Thursday at Marshfield High School.
The Tigers won 25-21, 25-20, 27-25, to improve to 3-0 in the WVC and 17-2 overall this season. D.C. Everest drops to 2-1 in the conference.
Abby Ongna had 11 kills, Reinya Balderson had 26 assists and 14 digs, and Elise Uphoff had four aces and 11 digs for Marshfield.
Rylee Corteen added nine blocks and Grace Taylor had nine digs as well for the Tigers.
Both teams will compete at the first Wisconsin Valley Conference Meet of the season Saturday at Stevens Point. Marshfield will play matches against Wausau East and Wisconsin Rapids.
