Stratford girls basketball cruises past Spencer for first win of season

STRATFORD – The Stratford girls basketball team held Spencer to just four made field goals and rolled to a 73-23 nonconference win on Thursday night at Stratford High School.

Lexie Christopherson made seven 3-pointers and scored a game-high 23 points to lead the way for the Tigers, who picked up their first win of the season to even their record at 1-1.

Lauren Kraus added 16 points and eight rebounds, and Allison Lindner chipped in eight points for Stratford. Eleven of the 14 Tigers that played scored in the win.

Freshman Autumn Davis had two 3-pointers and scored 14 points for the Rockets, who had the majority of their points at the free throw line, making 13 of 17.

Both teams jump back into play Friday. Spencer has a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game at home against Marshfield Columbus Catholic, while Stratford will play a Marawood Conference crossover game at Prentice on Friday.
