Aue surpasses 1,000 career points as Auburndale girls basketball wins at Newman Catholic

WAUSAU – Annamarie Aue surpassed the 1,000-point plateau for her career with 14 points on Thursday night as the Auburndale girls basketball defeated Wausau Newman Catholic 53-45 at Newman Catholic High School.

Aue, who also had a team-best nine rebounds, is just the third player in Auburndale girls basketball history to secure the career scoring mark.

Mya Krings added 12 points, Ashlyn Grimm chipped in 11, and Josie Ertl had 10 for the Eagles, who are now 11-5 overall and 7-3 in the Marawood South, moving into second place in the conference standings.

Auburndale plays a nonconference game at Pittsville on Monday.
