Stratford softball pounds Nekoosa

NEKOOSA – The Stratford softball team scored multiple runs in each of the first six innings and earned a 15-6 nonconference win over Nekoosa on Friday at Nekoosa High School.

Sonia Peterson had three hits and two RBI, Emma Roeper had two hits, two RBI and scored three times, and Tria Tubbs also drove in a pair for Stratford, which improves to 4-3 this season.

Tessa Berg also had two hits and scored three times for Stratford.

Tubbs struck out 10 and walked five in a complete-game effort for the Tigers.

Stratford is scheduled to play a Marawood Conference South Division game at Wausau Newman Catholic on Monday, weather permitting.
